Mini Beast Hunt
The boys and girls in Ms. Boland's 1st Class went on a Mini Beast Hunt yesterday. We were very lucky to have Pat Hunt with us to help us search and identify the various mini beasts living around our school. First we looked at different pictures of slugs, spiders, snails, beetles, worms and centipedes. Then we went to the back of the school and began searching for the mini beasts. We used trowels to help us look under the long grass and in the flower beds. 1st Class found slugs, snails, spiders, centipedes, woodlouse, leatherjackets, grasshoppers and many more. We had lots of fun and learned lots about the insects and mini beasts living in our school environment. Thanks to Pat for helping us with our hunt. Have a look at some of our pictures to see what we found!
