Global Citizenship: Litter and Waste

21st Jan 2018

This year the school is working towards our 6th Green Flag. This flag concentrates on how our litter and waste affects not just our environment in Tallaght but how it affects the world. Pat Hunt came to visit 2nd class on Thursday 18th January to help the children explore many ways that we can Reduce, Reuse and Recycle in our school and at home. Pat also told the children of the big problem plastic is to the environment. The children went litter picking in the school grounds and examined all packaging to see if it was recyclable plastic or not. Pat encouraged the children to look out for the correct symbols that tell us if we can recycle that plastic or not. The children are now looking to buy products that come in plastic that can be recycled. Thank you to Ms. Boyle and Pat Hunt for his visit. We look forward to continue to learn how we can help the litter problem in our community and the world.
